15 Top Reasons Melaleuca oil is a must have in your home!

One of my very favorite essential oils is Melaleuca oil, commonly called Tea Tree oil. Melaleuca stimulates the immune system. Sourced from Australia, this is an essential oil we use most every single day in our home! Not all Melaleuca oil is the same, however! There’s a lot of adulterated oils out there and you want a high quality, pure and potent, therapeutically consistent brand of oils! That’s what I love about doTERRA. Get in touch with me! I want to be your wellness advocate and provide ongoing education and support and empower you in managing your health and wellness goals naturally. Here’s our top 10 uses for Melaleuca (and then some). We use Melaleuca:

1.) ANY time the skin is “broken” or scraped or scuffed or has an owie. If you are out in the wilderness without soap and water, make certain Melaleuca oil is in your first aid kit!

2.) ANY time the skin or scalp or feet or any other part itches! Adding a little Lavender will help calm the itch as well and very frequently we use both essential oils together.

3.) If the skin is broken after touching a hot oven tray, cookie sheet, iron, etc. reach for Melaleuca and definitely add Lavender to help with the burn sensation. Apply Lavender every time that burn sensation returns and Melaleuca to cleanse the skin.

4.) With insect bites or stings. Adding a little Basil essential oil makes for a fabulous duo!

5.) With paper cuts or razor cuts. You’ll find yourself saying “Ahhhhh…much better!”

6.) In a 10 mL roller bottle with Fractionated Coconut oil (50:50) as a deodorant OR foot rub after showering at the gym. I always have Melaleuca in my gym bag! And often people ask, “What is that?” Be sure to apply between the toes as well. It’s called prevention!

7.) If your feet are sweaty and stinky…or you have cracks between the toes, that’s quite uncomfortable and Melaleuca is your friend! If Melaleuca is not adequate for your foot issues…adding some Arborvitae diluted with Fractionated Coconut oil to the bottoms of your feet is sure to help!

8.) If you have a sore in your mouth or bleeding in your gums after flossing and getting that popcorn skin out from between your gums. Bad breath in the morning? Oh, my…you will love swishing with Melaleuca and a little water! Melaleuca is fantastic for oral hygiene and a gum strengthening mouth wash!

9.) When my teens are found picking their zits in front of the mirror. Give your teens a bottle of Melaleuca oil and encourage them to start applying topically to blemishes before they erupt and stop picking at their faces:-)

10.) With aching ears. I always start with Melaleuca and Lavender applied topically around the outer ear for soothing relief. Do not put essential oils directly in the eyes, ears, nose…Keep it safe!

11.) As a gargle for a sore throat. Add a couple drops to an 8 oz. glass of water and gargle and spit or gargle and swallow (as long as you are using an oil safe for internal consumption). You’ll be glad you did!

12.) As an immune booster applied with a pure carrier oil during a massage.

13.) As a cleaning agent added to our natural bathroom/kitchen cleaning sprays made with essential oils. No need for chemicals in the home. Make your home child safe! Reach out to me for more DIYs to save you money!

14.) As the “oil of energetic boundaries”. Melaleuca essential oil is a fabulous purifying oil helping us to clear negative energetic baggage and parasitic relationships. Wearing it as a “perfume” or deodorant or diffusing in your home is a fabulous way to encourage an individual in reliquishing all forms of self-betrayal. And it helps in setting positive boundaries disallowing others to take advantage of one’s time, energy, or talents! Have I convinced you yet that Melaleuca oil is a must have at your fingertips?

15.) As a detangler. There are few things worse than tangled hair–it can often lead to a tender scalp and lots of unnecessary hair stuck in your brush. Detangling Spray is a great way to get your hair tangle-free without the sore scalp. Marshmallow root and apple cider vinegar are natural detanglers and essential oils add additional benefits to help keep your hair healthy and beautiful and full. Here’s a fabulous DIY recipe for Hair Detangler:
